William J. Ipe, 90, of Mishawaka passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. William was born in Mishawaka on June 28, 1932, to the late William H. Ipe and Diva Lucy (Fanti) Carnoy. On August 25, 1951, in St. Monica Catholic Church he married the former Emma Barfell. Surviving is his wife of 71 years, Emma; his children, Christina (Rick) Mentel and William (Laura) Ipe; grandchildren, Kimberly A. Johnson, Tracy L. Schidler, Jennifer L. Winebrenner, Thomas L. Brown, Melissa A. Meister and Cassandra M. Hamilton; 11 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Charles Carnoy; daughter, Debra Ipe Williams; son, James J. Ipe; and sister, Norma Wilcox. Bill was very proud of his Italian heritage. He enjoyed being with his friends at the DeAmici’s Club especially on Friday nights. He was also a member of the Eagles. Bill worked as a brick mason then was a Building Code officer for the City of Mishawaka. He retired from the Mishawaka Water Department. The family will receive friends from 12 pm-1 pm on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Memorial Service will be at 1 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Pete Pacini officiating. Contributions can be made in Bill’s memory to the donor’s choice.
