SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Mary Jane Simon, 85, passed away September 18, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. Mary Jane was born August 8, 1931 in South Bend, to the late Michael and Bernice (Malicki) Harringer. On May 2, 1953 Mary Jane married Alex Simon he preceded her in death on June 14, 2007. Mary Jane was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret B. Mossman; brothers, Paul, Robert, and Richard Harringer; and grandson, Jonathan Simon.Survivors of Mary Jane include a son, Michael (Anne) Simon of South Bend; grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul), Christopher, Amy (Jeremy Wright) Simon; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua, Tammy, Alex and Abigail Christopher, Brianna Simon, Brayden Beheyt, Sebastian Wright. Mary Jane retired from South Bend Toy. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mary Jane enjoyed reading, watching Notre Dame Football, and collecting teddy bears. She also loved her dog Missy. Most of all Mary Jane loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mary Jane will be 2:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:00am, Thursday, September 22, 2016 in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
