Ruth Ann Schaphorst

Ruth Ann Schaphorst, 79, of Countryside Place of Mishawaka nursing home died about 10:16 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Schaphorst was born Feb. 19, 1907, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident. On May 14, 1927, in South Bend, as Ruth Ann Hesse, she married August H. Schaphorst. He died in 1963. Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Siebert of Mishawaka and Carolyn Fleck of Kendallville; a son, Dr. Richard of South Bend; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from & to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Hospital Mishawaka Foundation. Mrs. Schaphorst was a member of First English Lutheran Church.
