SOUTH BEND - Stella M. Nowostawski, 91, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Saint Joseph Care Center West, South Bend. She was born on April 27, 1917, in South Bend, to the late Paul and Amelia (Sienkiewicz) Wacunas and was a lifelong area resident. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Wroblewski, her second husband Frank Nowostawski, a son, Frank Nowostawski, and a brother, Charles Wacunas. Stella is survived by her sons, Ray Wroblewski of Anderson, IN and Bert (Joyce) Wroblewski of Mishawaka, IN; her daughter, Suzanne (Douglas) Basker of South Bend; five grandchildren, Steve (Angie) Wroblewski, Ray (Cindy) Wroblewski, Jr., Suzanne Furlow, David (Lisa) Schoen and Tiffany Schoen; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Frances Fozo of South Bend. Mrs. Nowostawski worked for RACO for 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Funeral services for Stella will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, in the funeral home, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
