SOUTH BEND, IN - Angela M. Parsons, age 96, of South Bend, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the Caring Junction Group Home in South Bend. Angela worked, during the war, at Ball-Band and also Curtis Wright, where they made airplane engines. Angela was born on February 11, 1922 in South Bend to the late Alex and Dora Putz and lived in this area all of her life. On September 24, 1942 in South Bend, she married Don R. Parsons who preceded her in death on September 18, 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Carmen D. Haning of South Bend; a son, Patrick R. Parsons of Osceola; three grandchildren, Randy (Diana) Parsons, Michelle (Chris) Thorton, and Jason Haning; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Courtney, Brady, Austin, and Lily; and a brother, Victor Putz. Angela is preceded in death by a sister, Esther Ross; and a brother, Alfred Putz. Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Angela was a great wife and mother. She had a green thumb and was a wonderful seamstress.
