Joyce Mae Schmidt, 69, of Sawyer, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Sawyer. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Joyce was born May 9, 1940 in St. Joseph, MI to Charles & Edith (Pooch) Hill. She graduated from Stevensville High School. On May 8, 1982 She married August Schmidt in Sawyer. Joyce worked for Zenith Company for 39 years before retiring.Joyce is survived by her husband August Schmidt of Sawyer; brothers Robert Hill of Stevensville and Donald (Linda) Hill of Bridgman. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Charles Hill; sister Sharon Hauch.
