South Bend-Mildred “Millie” Vercruysse, 86, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Paul’s in South Bend. Millie was born on July 27, 1932 in Mishawaka to Maurice and Marcella (De Meulenaere) Vercruysse. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Curt Camerer. Surviving are a sister, Charleen Hixenbaugh; niece, Cristy Camerer. Millie worked as a Secretary for Uniroyal for 35 years, retiring in 1985. She was a kind and caring person. She was always outgoing and had a wonderful smile that could and did light up a room. A Memorial service will be on Thursday, September 6 at 10 a.m., in St. Paul’s in South Bend. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in St. Paul’s. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
