Joseph D. Galeziewski, 55, of 1216 N. Iowa St., died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. He was a South Bend fireman. He was born March 12, 1927, in South Bend, and was a lifetime area resident.
On Sept. 21, 1957, in South Bend, he married Dolores Kalmar. She survives along with a daughter at home, Miss Linda Galeziewski; a son, Gary Galeziewski, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Ambroziak, Mrs. Mary Borlik and Mrs. Helen Bonkowski, all of South Bend; and two brothers, Stanley and Louis, both of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday. He was a member of the Indiana Firefighters Association and Post 3194 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a World War II veteran serving with the Army.
