GRANGER - William F. Vanslager, Sr., 92, residing in Granger, Indiana passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Center for Hospice Care, South Bend. William was born on May 4, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Vanslager and has been a lifelong resident of this area. He proudly served our country in the United States Naval Service and was a Veteran of World War II. He previously worked at Ball Band Wool and Rubber Company, Mishawaka and at the Bendix Corporation, South Bend, where he worked for 35 years, before retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #130 F&M. On July 17, 1980 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Marsha L. (Kryder) Vanslager, who survives. He is also survived by his son, William (April) Vanslager, Jr. of South Bend. William was preceded in death by his two sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Irene Ungright. Graveside services with Military Rites will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 24, 2018, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
