NEW CARLISLE - Harriet P. Vollmer, 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Peter and Margaret (Maenhout) Van Driessche. On April 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to William Vollmer, who preceded her in death in 2003. Also preceding her in death were their daughter, Kimberly Vollmer, along with her brothers, Raymond, John, Harry, George, Paul and Gerald Van Driessche, and her sisters, Dorothy Vervynckt, Lillian Van Driessche, Grace Sniadecki and Ruth Walkowski. Survivors include her children, Kay (James) Collins of South Bend, IN, Joyce (Mike) Van Sickle of Paw Paw, MI, Debbie Van Wanzeele of New Carlisle, IN, Albert (Linda) Vollmer of Rolling Prairie, IN, Alfred (Jenelle) Vollmer and Cynthia (Bob) Wolavka, both of New Carlisle, IN. Also surviving are her 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with her siblings, Donald (Barb) Van Driessche of Colorado Springs, CO, Helen Coleman of Jackson, TN, Kate (David) Smith of South Bend, IN, and Lucille (Charles) Weisweaver of Mishawaka, IN, sister-in-law, Retta Van Driessche of South Bend, IN, and brother-in-law, Ralph Vollmer of South Bend, IN. Harriet was a proud and an active member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish in New Carlisle where she was part of the Rosary Sodality, Legion of Mary and many other groups over the years. Harriet was also a TOPS Club member and had danced with the Star Riders Square Dance Club for many years. Harriet's favorite pastime was spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Harriet will be held on Friday, December 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m., at the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, IN. A Mass will be held on Saturday, December 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Rev. Paul McCarthy will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 55756 Tulip Rd., New Carlisle, IN 46552.
