Mishawaka - Mary Balint, 81 of Mishawaka passed away peacefully on Saturday October 16, 2021, in Memorial Hospital South Bend, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on January 1, 1940, in South Bend as the daughter of John and Joan (Hirl) Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Joan Mc Cabe and one brother John Hoffman. On June 27, 1959, Mary married Jack Balint, he preceded her in death on December 6, 2020. She is survived by her children Timothy (Angie Neal) Balint, Tom (Lisa) Balint, Edward (Sandy) Balint Grandchildren Mindy Balint, Nathan (Allie) Balint, Elisha (Brandon) Anderson, Aaron (Nikki) Balint Kahli (Zach) Lorenz, Alex, Audrey, and Andrew Balint and 18 Great Grandchildren In 1968, Mary 's husband Jack founded the company Advantage Materials Handling Group which they owned for 53 years. Mary was a supportive partner of Jack. Mary was a member of Queen of Peace Parish where she was a director of religious education, a member of the Women's Jubilee and regularly gave her time and talent for countless parish activities, most recently the Mary's Way Dinner to be held on October 28th. Mary was also a member of the South Bend Elk's Lodge where she enjoyed many great friends and great memories. Visitation will be on Wednesday October 20th from 4-8 pm in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka and one hour prior to service at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 21, at 10:30 am in Queen of Peace Catholic Church Mishawaka with Fr. John Eze Officiating. Private Burial will take place in Southlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Mary's Way Women's Jubilee Society C/O of Queen of Peace parish.
