SOUTH BEND - Maryann (Leda) Jankowski Bell, 42, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 25, 2014. Maryann was born November 20, 1971 in South Bend to the late Ernest and Evelyn (Ivy) Leda. Maryann was also preceded in death by a sister, Becky (Hope) Smith. Survivors of Maryann include her husband, Thomas Bell; sons, Cody (Missy) Leda of Osceola, Cory Leda of Osceola, and Coltan Jankowski of St. Joseph, MI; daughters, Ashley Marie Jankowski of Osceola, Sarah Jankowski of St. Joseph, MI, and Khailee Bell of South Bend; brothers, Mike Leda of Elkhart, Jim (Sandy) Leda of Mishawaka, and Larry Hay of South Bend; sister, Sherrie Lazo of Daytona Beach, FL, and all her beloved family members and friends. Maryann attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School, John Adams High School, Davenport and Indiana University where she studied in the Nursing field. She has spent the last twelve years employed at Northwest Family Medicine which she often referred to as her second beloved family. Maryann also spent many years working for St. Joseph Health Care where she took care and met many patients for whom she cared deeply. She always had compassion for the sick and the elderly and often dedicated herself seven days a week. Nothing gave Maryann more joy than to be with her family, friends and many pets. She was a devoted Notre Dame fan. Maryann has showed us how to serve the Lord by serving others. We have lost a beautiful person here on earth, but heaven has gained another angel. Visitation for Maryann will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated 10:00 am on Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society , 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545 or St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
