Louis Kossouth Armentrout, Jr. known as "Butch" and "Grandpa Gospel" passed away at 8:25 PM on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. Butch was an inspector and welder at Wheelhorse, Inc. He served as Vice President of UAW Local Union. He was born on March 12, 1948 in South Bend, IN to the late Louis Kossouth Armentrout Sr. and Betty Jean (Chandonia) Michael. He was born again, asking God into his heart on March 14, 1982. On June 26, 1965 in Galien, MI, Butch married Pollie "Ann" (Brister) Armentrout, who survives. Along with his loving wife, Ann, he is also survived by one son, Robert (Sonya) Armentrout of South Bend; his daughter, Sheri (Roberto) De Hoyos of South Bend; ten grandchildren, Nakita (Ryan) Walter, Samantha (Tyler) Neumayer, Roberto De Hoyos, Jr., Lorenzo Louis De Hoyos, Jamison Kossouth De Hoyos, Veronica De Hoyos, Ashley Cabanaw, Christopher Rainey, Garrett Armentrout and Anna Rose Louise Armentrout; and three great grandchildren, Ruben, Benjamin and Isabelle. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Louise (Jim) Simon of Lawrence, MI, Diane Griesinger of Lakeville and Pamela (Ken) Samulski of South Bend; cherished nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends and neighbors. Two grandchildren and one brother, Larry Edward Armentrout, preceded Butch in death. Butch was a gifted musician, singer, songwriter and artist. He played and sang in several bands including, Array, Grandpa Gospel and the Good News Jamboree, Country Crossroads, Simply Country and Rejoice. Butch and his cousin, Lawerence Simon started a Bible study in Galien, MI, in 1983 which grew into the current Galien Missionary Church Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 24, 2012 at Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th Street, South Bend, IN 46615. Pastor Karl Yoder will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend.Contributions in memory of Butch may be made to the family.
