SOUTH BEND, IN - Euphemia “Faye” Veatch, 79, of South Bend passed away at 1:08 a.m. Wednesday, January 6 at Memorial Hospital following an illness. Faye was born June 3, 1941 in Edinburgh, Scotland to the late Euphemia (Adams) and William McKechnie and had lived in the South Bend area since 1965. On March 14, 1996 in Edinburgh she married Gary Veatch who preceded her in death October 18, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Castle. She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Nickelson of South Bend and Andrea Szczypiorski (Terry) of North Liberty, IN; two sons, Christopher Buscoe (Jennifer) of Mishawaka and Mark Buscoe of South Bend; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had two sisters and five brothers of Scotland. Faye was the well-known daytime bartender at the former Joe's House of Spirits (My Place). Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Rd. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Southlawn Cremation Services. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 S.
