MISHAWAKA - Julia A. Baugher, 96, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017. Julia was born on August 23, 1921, in Webster City, Iowa, to Anselmo and Inez (Perazzini) Zanotti. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Erma Brasini and Mary Vernasco, and brother, Nino Zanotti. On August 8, 1942, she married Jack Baugher, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1990. Surviving are her daughters, Jacqueline Baugher of Watertown, MA, and Jill (Bruce) Baldwin of Rockville, MD; and her grandson, Jack Baldwin, whom she adored. Julia is also survived by her nephews and niece, Julius (Joyce) Brasini, Joseph (Barbara) Vernasco, Walter (Mary Jo) Vernasco, Sharon Burrow, Donald Zanotti and Brian Zanotti. She also had many great-nieces and great-nephews who brightened her days with their visits and calls. Julia worked at Wheelabrator-Frye for 48 years as an Executive Secretary and became Assistant Secretary of the Corporation in l968. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, the Julianna Club of Wheelabrator Corporation and the DeAmicis Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching Notre Dame sports, and walking in Rose Park with her dear friends, Gloria Henke and Mary Van Den Driessche. She loved spending summers in Maine with her family and taking long walks along the shore. For the last five years, Julia lived independently at the Sanctuary of St. Paul's where she enjoyed saying the Rosary daily and volunteering in the office. Julia graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1939. Visitation will be held on November 2nd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 508 West 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3rd, at 10:00 am at St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
