NEW CARLISLE - Carrie H. Kafka, 93, passed away at 6:25 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2011, in Hamilton Grove, New Carlisle, IN. Carrie was born on February 6, 1918, in New Carlisle, to the late Walenty and Martha (Wroblewski) Pionstka. On June 22, 1935, she married Chester, who preceded her in death on December 2, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Dean and Joey. She is survived by her five children, Martha Kugler of New Carlisle, Annette (Terry) Krisher of Niles, MI, Joseph (Mona) Kafka of New Carlisle, Marvin (Mary) Kafka of Sparta, TN, and Richard Kafka of Mountain Grove, MO; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Carrie was a sewing machine operator, where she worked at Wilson Brothers and Koszegi Leather. She was parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Carrie enjoyed sewing, and loved her grandkids and great-great grandkids. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, November 22, 2011, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
