Johnnie G. Jankowski, 79, of New Carlisle, passed away at 11:05 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Johnnie was born on March 15, 1926, in Paris, Texas, to Johnnie and Alverta (Carroll) Raper. On August 12, 1947, she married Leo A. Jankowski. Her parents, husband and daughter, Geraldine Jankowski, have preceded her in death. Johnnie is survived by daughters, Diane (Joseph) Farkas of Huntington, Ind., Lisa Banholzer of Seattle, Wash., and Tina (Steve) Stombaugh of South Bend; son, Philip (Karen) Jankowski of South Bend; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicholas (Bridgett), Justine, Nathan, Hannah, and Samual.Johnnie was a homemaker, belonged to St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, over 50 Club, PNA 3078 and the Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and was an avid basketball fan. Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church.
