He is survived by his wife, Ann (Leonard) Molenda of Granger; son, Robert (Donna) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Kathleen Pence (Jerry) of North Liberty; daughter, Deborah Fox (Bob) of Granger; son, Michael (Sara) of LaGrange, IL; and daughter, Rebecca Malmquist (Rudy) of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren; his brother, Edward (Mickey), and sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Anastos. He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley (Little) Molenda; and by a brother, Dr. Frank Jr. Bob graduated from South Bend Central High School, Indiana University, and the Indiana University School of Medicine, Class of 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and after beginning his practice as a physician and general surgeon in Michigan City, IN, he also served our country in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War, as a Captain, Flight Surgeon and Instructor at the Air Force School of Aviation Medicine. In the years following his return to Michigan City, he decided to specialize in psychiatry which, upon the successful completion of all educational and residency requirements, he practiced in Chicago and Grand Rapids until his retirement. Bob was a man of many diverse interests. He loved music, books, conversation, traveling, fine food and wine. He was also a highly accomplished violinist who began his "mastery" at the age of four and sometimes played in his community's symphony orchestras. But, most of all, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, who always kept current with all that was going on in his loved one's lives. He will be dearly missed.
