Edmund O. Szabo
Nov. 28, 1914 - June 11, 2006

Edmund O. Szabo, 91, of Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006, in the Hamilton Grove Retirement Community.
Mr. Szabo was born on November 28, 1914, in Rabakeczol, Hungary, to Joseph and Julia (Beasics) Szabo Sr. He was employed by Studebaker and retired in 1979 from South Bend Lathe. Edmund was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Calvert Rod & Gun Club, and was an avid bowler, Notre Dame fan and fisherman.
Surviving are a son, E. Greg (Mary) Szabo of Mishawaka; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann (Jerry) Beaver of South Bend; two grandchildren, Jason Szabo and Kara Szabo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edmund was preceded in death by six brothers, Joseph Jr., Alex, Frank, Victor, Emery and Steven.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today where a prayer service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Calvert Rod & Gun Club.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edmund's memory may be made to the Military Honor Park, P.O. Box 3356, South Bend, IN 46619.
