Rose Jones, 80, formerly of 36th Street, South Bend, died at 6:45am on Thursday, May 11, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. She was born on December 17, 1919, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Rose retired form the South Bend Police Department after 19 years of service as a meter maid. Rose always was proud of the friends she had made during those years, and was a staunch law enforcement supporter. Rose Jones leaves to cherish a daughter, Beverly A. (Ben) Wachowiak of South Bend; a grandson, Morris B. Wachowiak of South Bend; four sisters, Evelyn Vannoni, Irene Witham and Gertrude (Omer) Boembeke of Mishawaka, and Rita Smith of South Bend; and two brothers, Richard (Evelyn) Ruszkowski and Donald (Judith) Ruszkowski of South Bend; and by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatius and Frances Ruszkowski; three sister, Adeline Kosiatek, Mary Jane Batalis and Barbara Ham; and two brothers, Harry and Joseph Ruszkowski. Family & Friends may call form 2 to 8pm on Sunday, May 14, in the St Joseph Funeral home, 824 S Mayflower Road, where a wake service will be held at 7:30pm
