Josephine “Josie” Farkas Horwarth of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away peacefully Wednesday October 5, 2022. Josie was born May 15, 1928 in South Bend to parents Mary (Frula) and Frank Farkas who preceded her in death in 1984, along with a sister Helen Nyari preceded her in death. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and drawing. On September 16, 1950 she was united in marriage to Herman J. Horwarth and the marriage lasted 65 ½ years until his death on April 6, 2016. She is survived by a son Christian (Debi) Horwarth of Osceola, Indiana and a daughter Maria “Mia” and husband Phil Buchanan of Cedar Hill, TN, a grandson Corey Hardiman of Bremen, Indiana, her dog Jason, sister Mary Paczkowski of South Bend and assorted nieces and nephews. Also a special friend Mary Louise Vanderbosch of San Jose, CA and Renie Evans of Mishawaka, IN. Services will be held at Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave South Bend, Indiana 46613 on Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 7:00 pm Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Pet Refuge or Our Lady of Hungary Church.
