Charles J. Barna, 65, of 52458 N. Scott St., died at 1:40am today in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was retired from Mastic Corp. He was born May 1, 1917, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident. On October 7, 1938, in Crown Point, he married Ruth Rose, who survives with two sons, Robert R. of Mishawaka and Raymond L. of Osceola; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Gerenscer and Mrs Rose Griffin, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Alice Miner of Jacksonville FL Services will be at 11am Friday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. Michael Coynel, pastor of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pmThursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St Joseph County Cancer Society.
