MISHAWAKA - Robert L. Kovatch, 84, of Mishawaka, passed away on July 1, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka. He was born on February 3, 1932 to John and Julia Kovatch in South Bend, IN. Robert was employed by Mastic Corporation as a Lab Technician for many years. He enjoyed fishing, racing, vegetable gardening, cooking, and football. He cherished his beloved dog, Rocky. He is survived by his former wife, Susan Kovatch; his children, Dennis Kovatch of Mishawaka, and Julie (Brett) Stevens of Newburgh, IN; three grandchildren, Fran, Kurt, and Elliott; his “adopted” son, Jason Potter; and his sister, Gloria Kovatch of Elkhart. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Andrew; and two sisters, Julia and Mary. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 5-6 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46516 with a funeral service in Robert's honor at 6 PM following the visitation.
