Florence Wentland's motto is "live one day at at time."
She turned 105 and is still taking life 'one day at a time' It has served her well. She just turned 105, and staff members at the Milton Adult Day Services in South Bend marked the occasion with a party, complete with cake and a giant card (marked "Happy 105th," of course). Wentland is a South Bend native who was born on Pulaski Street in 1910. She worked for years at Saint Mary’s College and was widowed at 42. She has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Wentland's 85-year-old daughter - Joyce Poland - cares for her.“She is the most wonderful mother anyone could have," Poland said. "She gave me everything I needed and even a few wants."
