Ernest Kostielney, 90, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Sanctuary of Holy Cross in South Bend. Ernest was born on July 22, 1927 in South Bend as the son of Jerome and Martha (Dispegler) Kostielney. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bernice Riggs; brother, Maurice Kostielney; son, Louis Kostielney and daughter, Sharon Dudek. On May 4th, 1957 he married Dorothy Polman. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; his children, Karen (Terry) Summers, Martha (Tim) Darr, Marilyn John Wuthrich, Sandy (Scott) Geisler and Jerome (Margaret) Kostielney. Ernest was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a Mail Handler. He was a Boy Scout Eagle and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Cathedral in South Bend. Ernest loved to fish and go to the Blue Chip. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4 in St. Matthew Catholic Cathedral, South Bend. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
