SOUTH BEND - Ruby Ann Horvath, 93, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:45 AM Saturday, July 14, 2007, in Regency Place of South Bend. She was born on September 5, 1913, to the late Alex and Agnes (Bojyusc) Patus in Elkhart, IN, and had lived in South Bend most of her life. Along with her parents one sister, Elizabeth Fouts, and six brothers, Alex Patus, Charles Patus, Paul Patus, Gaza Kocsis, Joe Kocsis and Joey Siderits, also preceded her in death. On September 28, 1935, as Ruby A. Patus, she married Julius Horvath in St. Stephen Catholic Church, South Bend, IN. He survives. Along with her loving husband, Julius of 71 years, she is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann (Thomas) Harbin of South Bend, IN; three sons, Julius Allan (Peggy) Horvath of Allendale, MI, Charles Edward (Sandra) Horvath of Nevada, MO, and Joseph Michael Horvath of South Bend, IN; 10 grandchildren, David (Lorine) Horvath, Anne (Keith) Brouillette, Julie (Joseph) Lauck, Thomas (Sirkka) Horvath, Marcy (Peter) Torres, Thomas (Sherry) Harbin Jr., Charles (Toni) Harbin, Stephen Horvath, Karen Horvath and Edward (Kimberly) Robinson; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Laanan of Houston, TX, and Ellie Jankowski of South Bend, IN; and two brothers, Nandor Patus of South Bend, IN, and Rudy (Janet) Patus of South Bend, IN. Mrs. Horvath was a member of Christ the King Parish. She was one of the first beauticians in South Bend at Kresges Dime Store. Ruby Ann was an excellent seamstress, loved to crochet and knit, and enjoyed cooking. She was greatly devoted to her family and others. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM today, July 18, 2007, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 19, 2007, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.
