Carol Ann Pitcher
Sept. 20, 1941 - Oct. 23, 2011
OSCEOLA - Carol Ann Pitcher, 70, passed away on a beautiful fall morning on October 23, 2011, at home after a yearlong, courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Carol was born September 20, 1941, to John and Julia Petrasovits, who preceded her in death along with a sister, Sue Petrasovits. Carol was joined in marriage to Jack Lee Pitcher on May 25, 1963, and was a loving and adored wife. Along with her loving husband, Jack, Carol is survived by her son, Jack Andrew Pitcher (Sabrina); her daughter, Barbara Lynn Simms (Bud); her grandchildren, Stachia Pitcher, Mitchell Groppe, Morgan Groppe, Jennifer Bertman (Aaron), Anna Penn (James), Brandon Dougall and Sabrina Simms. Also surviving are one brother, Lewis Petrasovits (Mary), and sisters, Sharon Troutman and Judith Petrasovits. Carol will be remembered for her loving and compassionate nature, her sense of humor, love of life, and for the unconditional love she always supplied to her close family. She loved her grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with them, and would often softly hum to soothe them when they were little. Carol enjoyed gardening, watching movies, shopping for bargains at garage sales, and mostly spending time with her small family. During her illness, she displayed such courage, had the ability to melt the hearts of her caregivers with her sweetness and joking, and often worried more about her husband, children and family who took care of her. Her bravery, sweetness and love that she displayed during this past year has brought her family much strength, and all will miss their dear Nana. Elkhart Cremation Services has assisted the family with final arrangements in honoring Carol's wishes for a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's honor to Hospice. Published in South Bend Tribune on October 25, 2011

Burial: Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
