WINONA LAKE - Mavis Michalski, 95, passed away at 12:10 PM Friday, June 28, 2013, at Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake, IN. She was born on January 2, 1918, in Leslie, Saskatchewan, Canada, to James Rand and Daisey May (Darlison) Kintzel. On November 15, 1937, in Etna Green, IN, she married Edward B. Michalski, and they enjoyed 62 years together. He passed away on October 19, 1999. Mrs. Michalski is survived by her two daughters, Janet (Jack) Reardon of Waikoloa, HI, and Mavis (John) Ebbert of Birmingham, AL; one son, James (Dianna) Michalski of South Bend; five grandchildren, Chad (Melissa) Reardon, Chris (Lesley) Reardon, Brandy Lolmaugh, Jennifer (Gary) Hughes and Matthew (Jennifer) Ebbert; 11 great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren & numerous step-great-grandchildren; her much loved sister, Sandra Dickerson of Syracuse, & her wonderful family who were like grandchildren to her. She was preceded in death by a grandson, James Michalski; her sister, Norma Creighton; and brothers, Leonard and Glenn Kintzel. Mrs. Michalski was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, South Bend. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Jamie Miller, pastor of Sunnyside Presbyterian, will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
