ELKHART - Marcia A. Huys, 67, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Huys was born on November 18, 1949 in South Bend, IN to the late Joseph and Marie (Micinski) Markiewicz. She married James Huys February 25, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. Marcia was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post #360, as well as a member of the American Legion Post # 308 in Osceola. She enjoyed needlepoint, baking, gardening, and traveling. In addition to her husband, Marcia is survived by her sons, John (Katherine) Roys of South Carolina, Todd (Desiree) Roys of Hawaii; step-sons, Joseph Huys of Gobles, MI, Daniel Huys, & Andrew Huys; grandchildren, Sage Roys, Uriah Roys, Connor Huys, & Mason Huys; brother, Mike Markiewicz of South Bend, and a sister-in-law, Mary Markiewicz. Along with her parents, Mrs. Huys was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Markiewicz and a sister, Janet Markiewicz. Marcia's family requests that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as well as the Elkhart Hospice House. Elkhart Cremation Services are entrusted with Mrs. Huys arrangements. In keeping with her wishes, a Celebration of Life service will commence at the VFW Post #360 on a later date.
