SOUTH BEND - Sarah Beth Buzalski, 21, passed away at 6:49 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009, in Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She was born December 14, 1987, in South Bend, the daughter of John A. and Dianne (VanBrocklin) Buzalski, and had lived here all of her life. Sarah graduated from Mishawaka High School in 2006. During the summer of 2007 she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma (cancer). She had fought very hard since then. Her battle ended peacefully on Saturday with her family by her side. She was loved by all who met her. Her love of children was enormous. Now she's in heaven teaching and playing with all the babies and giving them all her love and attention. She was a fun-loving, giving, warm-hearted person who made this world a better place, and she will be greatly missed and forever loved by all. Sarah previously worked for Express and University Park Mall, and at Hazen's Phillips 66 Sub Shop on Capital and 12th Street, Mishawaka. She is survived by her loving parents, John and Dianne Buzalski of South Bend; her maternal grandparents, Bill and Myrna VanBrocklin of South Bend; maternal great-grandmother, Esther VanBrocklin of Oregon; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Lowry of Walkerton; three aunts, Sheryl Wetzel of Port St. Lucie, FL, Nancy Hubbard of Houston, TX, and Debra Schmaltz of Seymour, IN; three uncles, Ron VanBrocklin and Don VanBrocklin, both of South Bend, and James Buzalski of Rhode Island. Services celebrating the life of Sarah Buzalski will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 23, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until time of services Friday in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park. Contributions in memory of Sarah may be made to Riley Children's Hospital, 50 South Meridian Street, Suite 500, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
