Elizabeth K. Toth (Oct. 4, 1918 - Feb. 24, 2002)

Elizabeth Katherine Toth, 83, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Caritas Medical Center, Louisville. She was born in South Bend on Oct. 4, 1918, to the late Alex and Theresa (Szalay) Kovacsics. On May 31, 1942, Elizabeth married Nicholas Toth, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Toth. She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Dr. Stuart) Fink and Patty Toth, both of Louisville, and Susan Bailey of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Margaret Beres, and a brother, Alex Kovacsics, both of South Bend; her grandchildren, David, Jeff and Kevin Hunt, Erin and Ben Snook, Nichole and Lonnie Bailey; and by four great-grandchildren. Visitation was held in Louisville, on Tuesday. Local calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 South Michigan Street. Funeral service will be on Thursday with prayers at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home and a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Memorials in Mrs. Toth's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
