SOUTH BEND - George F. Gabor, 89 of South Bend passed away Tuesday morning March 2, 2010 in Cardinal Nursing and Rehab center. He was born in South Bend June 12, 1920 to the late Paul F. and Anna M. (Reichanadter) Gabor. On June 1, 1946 in South Bend he married the former Dorothy C. Kruggel who preceded him in death June 11, 1996. Left to cherish his memory, are his daughters Pamela S. Wagner (David) of Goshen, IN, Vicky A. Whittaker (Thomas) of South Bend and son George P. Gabor (Marta) of Zionsville, IN; seven grand children Jennifer and Stephanie Wagner, Kyle Whittaker (Deanna), Krystal Rosplock (Mike), Gretchen, Allie and Paul Gabor; three great grandchildren, Makenna and Kaiden Rosplock and Kyanna Whittaker; and one sister Margaret Wrobel of South Bend. George graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and was president of the class of 1938. He served in the United States Army with the 54th Armored Infantry Battalion in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. After his service to his country he worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Co. / Ameritech for forty years and was the president of the CWA in Michigan City, IN. George served as Priest in the New Apostolic Church for Twenty five years. The time of service has been changed to 1:00 p.m. Friday March 5, 2010 in the New Apostolic Church 5602 S. Ironwood Dr., with Priest Dennis Spriggs officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Visitation will be today from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North 17033 Cleveland Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to New Apostolic Church, 5602 S.
