ELKHART - James E. "Kappy" Kapsa, 51, of U.S. 33, died at 7:02 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, from injuries sustained in a work-related accident. He was born March 11, 1956, in South Bend to Mary (Quentin) Woodworth-Schlotterback. He was a professional tree trimmer with Mishawaka Tree Company. He was also self-employed working for various individuals and businesses. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. Survivors include his mother, Mary (Quentin) Schlotterback of Elkhart; brother, Rick (Becky) Kapsa of Granger; stepsisters, Christine Gouygue of Carmel, IN, Barbara Frechette of San Mateo, CA, and Pattie (Verl) Riegsecker of Indianapolis, IN; and two nephews, Nicholas Kapsa of Rochester, MD, and Dustin Kapsa of Brentwood, CA. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 29 in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osceola, IN. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday May 27 in Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. The Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart, is assisting the family with arrangements
