MISHAWAKA - John Catalino, 77, of South Main Street, died at 5 a.m. Saturday in his home. He worked for Studebaker Corp. for 34 years and retired from Vincent Bach Company in Elkhart in 1975. He was born Feb. 24, 1913 in Virden, Ill. He lived in the area for most of his life. On June 9, 1935, in St. Louis, he married Elizabeth L. Mandina. She survives with a daughter Catherine A. Salerno of Palos Hills, Ill.; a son Santino “Sandy” of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Messana and Kathryn Messana, both of Mishawaka. He was a member of DeAmicis Club, Good Fellows Club and St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by Hahn DeVos Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.
