MISHAWAKA - Joann “JoJo” Marie Newgent, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Joann was born December 3, 1948 in Pennsylvania to the late Bob and Ruth Andrejewski. She was also preceded in death by husband, Joseph F. Newgent, Sr., daughter, Tina Ann Jiles; and brothers-in-law, Tom Newgent, Sr. and Wilbur (Doris) Newgent. Survivors of Joann include her son, Joseph Franklin Newgent, Jr. of Mishawaka; grandson, Raymond W. Jiles; son-in-law, Bodie Jiles; brother, Steve Olejniczak of Lagrange; brother-in-law, Michael (Sharol) Newgent, Sr. of Lydick; sisters-in-law, Kathy Kanczuzewski of New Carlisle, Carol Jordanek and Susan (Ray) Kruger; and many nieces and nephews.Joann was a Dietary Aid at Madison Center and Portage Manor and employed at Monarch's for 15 years. Joann enjoyed knitting baby blankets, dancing, especially “The Stroll”, baking her “No Bake” and sugar cookies, and playing lottery scratch off tickets. Visitation for Joann is 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Funeral Ceremony will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, September 1, 2016. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Prosecutors Office Special Victims Unit, 533 N. Niles Ave., South Bend, IN 46617.
