HUDSON LAKE - James David Dudeck Sr., 73, of Hudson Lake, formerly of New Carlisle, IN, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2010, in his home. James was born December 16, 1936, in South Bend, IN, to Boniface and Harriett (Niespodziany) Dudeck, and was a lifelong area resident. On December 28, 1957, in Holy Family Catholic Church, South Bend, IN, he married Suzanne Marie Kruszewski, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, James (Lori) Dudeck Jr., of LaPorte, IN, Michael (Jewel Gilbert) Dudeck of LaPorte, IN, William (Analyn) Dudeck of Goshen, IN, Andrew (Jeff Behling) Dudeck of Valparaiso, IN, and Jon (Victoria) Dudeck of Chesterton, IN; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Gray, Adam Dudeck, Nicole Dudeck, Katlyn Dudeck, Victoria Dudeck, Phillip Dudeck, Tucker Sawyer, Lucas Sawyer and Hunter Dudeck; two great-grandchildren, Keith Harvey and Jayce Hochstetler; and two sisters, Joan (Robert) Beckner of Swartz Creek, MI, and Phyllis (Edmund) Luczkowski of South Bend. James was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dudeck. James was a 1956 graduate of New Carlisle High School. He retired in 2000 from A.M. General where he had been employed for 31 years. He was a lifetime member of both American Legion Post #297 and D.A.V. Chapter #19. There will be no services; cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LaPorte County VNA Hospice.
