Gayle L. Paksi, 71, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006, in Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 27, 1935, in Niles, Michigan, to William and Pearl (Hoover) Hartstein. Mrs. Paksi was employed by 1st Bank & Trust Company and Enterprise Rent a Car. On November 28, 1953, in South Bend, as Gayle Hartstein, she married John Paksi, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa (Joe) Bella of Granger; two sons, Cary Paksi and Gregory Paksi, both of South Bend; a grandson, Joey Bella; two sisters, Clarice Young of South Bend and Wilma Miner of Niles; and two brothers, Ted (Joan) Hartstein of Mishawaka and Richard (Natalie) Hartstein of Benton Harbor, MI. Gayle was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2006, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
