South Bend Times published Fri., Dec. 6, 1907:
"Funeral Notes
"The funeral of Mrs. Magdalena Grabarz was held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Hedwige church, Rev. Father Czyzewski officiating. Interment in Cedar Grove cemetery followed." The interment records of St. Hedwig Church show that Magdalena Grabarz, 64, died Nov. 30, 1907 and was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Her husband Vincent and son Jacob, who predeceased her, are also listed in the interment records of St Hedwig Church. The cemetery lot card microfilmed in 1988 shows they are buried in Section F, row 10, lot 176. The lot has five grave sites. In 2014, only one grave marker exists on the lot, a stone inscribed with the names "Wincentego' and "Jakoba". Some cemetery records were lost in a fire in 1926. Presumably, Magdalena is buried in the same lot as her husband and son.
The 1900 federal census of South Bend, IN, says Magdalena, 56, was born in German Poland in May of 1844, immigrated in 1870, and since had become a widow, had had eleven children, nine of whom were living. (In the 1880 federal census of South Bend, the family, then headed by Vincent, was listed under the name Grawertski.)
