SOUTH BEND - Concetta (Macri) Maugeri, 76, passed away at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in her residence. Concetta was born on December 8, 1931, in Siderno Marina, Italy to Francesco and Maria (Nicolleti) Macri. They preceded her in death, along with a daughter, Rose Maugeri. Mrs. Maugeri was a very giving person who loved to cook, take care of her husband, children and home. On June 12, 1952, in Siderno, Italy she married Carmelo Maugeri, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Maugeri of South Bend; two sisters, Maria (Frank) Lizzi and Rosa Macri, both of South Bend; six brothers, Edward (Catherine) Macri of Australia, Dominic (Francesca) Macri, Nick (Margaret) Macri, Salvatore (Tammy) Macri and Cosimo (Tammy) Macri, all of South Bend, and Tony (Sheila) Macri of Mishawaka; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Concetta of Torino, Italy; two brothers-in-law, Angelo Maugeri of Torino, Italy and Joseph Maugeri of Australia; 32 nieces and nephews; and six godchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Entombment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
