SYRACUSE -- Richard E. Grisamer, 72, of 117 N. Lake St., died at 1 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 20, 2002) in his home. On Oct. 23, 1929, he was born in Elkhart to Java "Jack" A. and Pauline O. (Ellwood) Grisamer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and moved to Syracuse in 1973. Mr. Grisamer married Helen Bogol in 1953, and she survives with four daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Becky) Richardson, Mrs. Anthony (Paula) Newman, Mrs. Marshall (Linda) Minnick and Mrs. Tony (Randi) Siri, all of Syracuse; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Stone of Goshen. One brother, a sister and one grandson are deceased.
There will be no visitation. A military memorial service will be at a later date. Burial is in McClintic Cemetery with Titus Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Grisamer, retired as a computer programmer and systems analyst, was a member of American Legion Post 223 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1342. Memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Bank One Tower, 111 Monument Circle, Suite 3930, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
