[N31185] Evelyn E Theobald
November 25, 1948 - January 23, 2022

Evelyn E. Lindahl, of Granger, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at her home at the age of 73. Evelyn was born in Hastings, England on November 25, 1948 to the late George A. and Clarrisa E. (Fitzgerald) Theobald. Evelyn was a proud U.S. Army nurse stationed in California caring for those wounded in Vietnam before moving to Indiana where she was married to A. John Lindahl and adopted her only son. She earned her associate degree from IUSB while working full time as a licensed practical nurse and later as a registered nurse (CCRN) for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and Elkhart General for over 40 years. Evelyn was a creative person with a pleasant personality. She enjoyed scrap booking, watching NBA basketball, collecting rocking horses, and was a frequent volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House. Although her physical health made life difficult over her final five years, Evelyn remained positive and friendly and stayed in close contact with her friends and family throughout all of her adversity. Evelyn is survived by her son, David Lindahl of Austin, TX and her sister Anne Tabor of Barnstable, England, and the many who called her ‘Aunt Evie’. She was preceded in death by her sister, April. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545. Friends may visit with the family starting at 6:00 p.m. until the time of service.
