Rose A. Breuer, age 93, formerly of Bloomington, died on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born on October 16, 1913, in New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Klosterman) Herbers. She attended school at St. Mary's in Bloomington. Rose married Peter Breuer on April 21, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1995. Together, they worked on a farm in rural Bloomington. She loved to grow flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed quilting and many other forms of sewing. Rose was a very good cook, especially desserts. She also was very active in her church; including the League of Mary, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers and was a member of the communion ministry. Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia (Larry) Kubiak, Granger, IN, and Shirley Wegmuller, Bloomington; five granddaughters, Kim (Rob) Furlong, Laurie (David) McWilliams, Kitty (Kirk) Tapp, Kelly (Mike) Ishmael and Stacy (Gary) Humes, all of IN; a granddaughter-in-law, JoAnne Wegmuller, Bloomington; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Edward Herbers, Milwaukee, Henrietta (Mark) Sanders, Greenfield, Catherine (Bob) Horne, Brecksville, OH, and Florence Herbers, West Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Margie Herbers and Dorothy Mumm, both of Bloomington; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter; her grandson, Jim, in 2001; two brothers, John and Rev. Charles Herbers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bloomington, with the Reverend Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington.
