Dale D. Lintner, 71, of LaPorte, died at 7:38 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Wheatfield, IN, to Harry R. and Flossie (Poisel) Lintner.
Mr. Lintner was a fin press operator at Modine Manufacturing in LaPorte, retiring in 2000 after 22 years of service. He had also been a manager for Dale’s Deep Rock Service Station, LaPorte. Dale honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was a past member of PNA, LaPorte. He enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and fishing. Dale loved to be home caring for his garden and enjoying nature. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. On July 25, 1981, in LaPorte, he married Alvera (Kraus) Lintner, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Harry Lintner; and one sister, Cora. Surviving are one son, Dale (Kathy) Lintner of LaPorte; two daughters, Donna (Brent) Mansfield and Diana Sheffield, both of LaPorte; one stepson, Brian Gilmore of LaPorte; one stepdaughter, Mary (Terry) Jones of LaPorte; four sisters, Evlyn, Doris, Kathern and Julie; three brothers, Alvin, Cecil and Carl; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Rev. James Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service. Cremation will take place. Please send condolences to the family at www.LakeviewFHC.com.
