ISHAWAKA - Mary Jane Sloboda, 90, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Christmas Day, in the Milton Home. She was born in South Bend on Aug. 4, 1922, to Claude and Mary (Storm) Rhinehart. Mary Jane lived in South Bend until 1983 when she moved to Mishawaka. On July 2, 1949, she married Stephen Nemes; he passed away in 1957. On March 21, 1959, she married John Sloboda; he died in 1993. Her sister also preceded her in death in 1972. Surviving are a niece, Vivian Bodle of Mishawaka, a stepson, William Sloboda of South Bend, & his family.She was a graduate of Riley High School in 1941 and the South Bend College of Commerce. She was a member of the Riley Lunch Bunch & was on the committees for the Riley Alumni Reunions. She was a past member of the St. Joseph Medical Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Euchre Clubs at Battell Center and Howard Park. Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm Friday at McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S.
