[N4961] Loretta Mary Radecki
Nov. 14, 1925 - July 2, 2014

SOUTH BEND - On July 2, 2014, the heavens became brighter as Loretta Radecki left all physical worries behind. There aren't enough words to express the different ways her kind soul made an impact on this world. However, we will do our best to celebrate her life in the midst of our sadness. A service will take place in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. at 11:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2014, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, July 6, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Loretta was born Nov. 14, 1925 in South Bend to Casimir & Mary Wojtasik. Both her parents were Polish immigrants who struggled during the Great Depression to provide a comfortable home for their children. Being the youngest of six siblings, Loretta grew up appreciating the simplicity of life. She found joy in gardening, family gatherings and the companionship of various pets. She was a lifelong supporter of numerous charitable organizations including Pet Refuge. She attended Grace Chapel for years and continued to reach out to loved ones with cards or letters when physical disabilities limited her means of travel. Loretta's sweet spirit was most often seen in her generous heart. She always searched for the good in people, took the time to listen and was open to learning new things. Wife, Mother, Busia, Sister, Friend, and Neighbor -- her roles in this life were endless and our love for her is infinite. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Radecki is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward Radecki; two children and their spouses, Susan and Charles Zent, and Mark and Cheryl Radecki; five grandchildren, Jennifer Zent, Joshua Zent, Jhannin Zent, Alec Radecki, & Emily Radecki; and last but not least, three handsome cats, Buster, Scotty and Buddy. The family wishes to express their gratitude to those who helped care for Loretta, especially during the past few weeks. Their compassion did not go unnoticed. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Condolences for the family may be made to www.sjfh.net. Published in South Bend Tribune on July 4, 2014
