Theodore S. "Ted" Goralski, 85, of West Ewing Street, South Bend, Ind., died Friday, Oct. 29, at 11:45 p.m. Ted was one of six children of Joseph A. and Rozalia (Bonek) Goralski, who preceded him in death. Two sisters, Eleanor Goralski and Phyllis, and one brother, Harry Goralski, preceded him in death. On Oct. 16, 1950, Ted married Adeline Stante. They celebrated 54 years of marriage less than two weeks ago. Ted is survived by Adeline, and three daughters, Cathy (Ed) Flowers, Carol (Dave) Skwarcan and Billie (Robert D.) Lemanski. Also surviving are two brothers, Steve (Esther) Goralski and Joseph (Joan) Goralski Jr.; nine grandchildren, Jenny Flowers, Kevin (Angie) Flowers, Denise Skwarcan, Kim (Jim) Babcock, Tina Skwarcan, Wendy (Cameron) McCartney, Joseph J. Buczek, Jamie (Kent) Hodgson and Michael (Noreen) Buczek; and nine great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Patrick Buczek, Cameron, Kaitlyn and Alexis McCartney, Nicholas Skwarcan, and Kaylee and Julian Hodgsen. Ted was a former Studebaker employee. He painted houses for years and worked at Sibley's Foundry for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Ted was an avid Notre Dame fan and fisherman all his life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be conducted by David Honeycutt of Deer Run Church of Christ at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 2, in the formal chapel at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619. Memorial contributions may be made to Deer Run Church of Christ, 2730 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of the Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care of their father during his final weeks.
