Ann M. VanOoteghem, 98, of South Bend, IN passed away at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Southfield Village. She was born on September 30, 1914 in Illinois to the late George J. and Mary (Daraskes) Cesavice. She was united in marriage to Albert B. VanOoteghem, Sr. on June 16, 1934 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in South Bend. Mrs. VanOoteghem is survived by her former daughter-in-law, Paulette Gerhold of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Beth (Chad) Casbon of Hebron, IN, Kirk (Tammy) VanOoteghem of Yorktown, IN, Sarah (Jeremiah) Wean of Indianapolis, IN, and Mandy (Leonard) Moretti of South Bend, IN; eleven great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Courtney, Lauren, Madison, Silas, Cole, Maya, Kyle, Logan, Ella, Evan and a twelfth expected in February 2014 . She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Cesavice; her husband, Albert (Bob), on July 20, 1988; and her son, Albert B. VanOoteghem, Jr., on September 24, 2010. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. VanOoteghem worked for the University of Notre Dame and Bendix. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 309 S. Taylor St., South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, IN is assisting the family with arrangements.
