Sharon Ann Coppens (Wiese), 75, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away peacefully, on November 2, 2018 in the Golden Living Center. Sharon was born October 18, 1943, in Long Beach, California to Mabel Longbreak, and Floyd Wiese. She moved to Mishawaka when she was three, where she remained. Sharon attended Beiger Elementary, Beiger Junior High and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1962, where She was a baton twirler. On September 15, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart John Coppens Sr. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John as well as her companion of 23 years, Joe Richard. Surviving are her children, John Coppens Jr. (Laurel) and her daughter Jill Hoopingarner (Billy) and her loving grandchildren, David Coppens and his fiancé Aubrey Middleton, Hanna Coppens, Nicholas Hoopingarner, Ryan Hoopingarner, and Brady Hoopingarner as well as two sisters in law, many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Sharon spent many years working as a housewife and mother before joining the workforce in 1989 when she began working for X-ray Consultants. She worked there for almost 20 years before retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish where she participated with the Young at Heart group. Sharon was also a member of the D’Amici’s Club and was a frequent patron of many local restaurants. Sharon enjoyed socializing with friends and going out for breakfast, lunch or dinner many days of the week. Sharon loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, especially the Men’s Basketball team. She attended all home games as a season ticket holder. Sharon was known as the “M&M Lady” to many as she always had a purse full to hand out to children and adults alike, just to see them smile. She knew that there were exactly 18 M&M’s in each pack. She was also a lover of all animals, especially dogs. Sharon also like to believe that pennies found on the street were a sign that loved ones in Heaven were thinking of you. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 6, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hahn Funeral Home 505 W 8th Street Mishawaka with a wake service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian of Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 7, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Mishawaka with visitation one hour prior to mass at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St.Joseph’s Parish Mishawaka or to Pet Refuge Pet Refuge Inc. 4626 Burnett Dr South Bend, Indiana 46614.
