SOUTH BEND - Chester F. Krawczyk, 95, passed away on Wednesday. Chester is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann (James) Veclotch, Roberta Alice Krawczyk and Susan Jean (Patrick) Trainor; and grandson, Christopher (Stephanie) Vargo. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm today in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

SOUTH BEND - Chester F. Krawczyk, 95, passed away peacefully at 9:10 am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Memorial Hospital. Chester was born July 20, 1916 in South Bend to the late Michael and Anna (Wroblewski) Krawczyk. On May 24, 1941 Chester married Florence Wierzbicki who preceded him in death on March 19, 2011. He is also preceded in death by brothers, Walter, Sylvester, Lucian and Clement Krawczyk; and sisters, Frances Kaminski, Verna Dorn, Mary Jurgonski, Helen Pawlak and Loretta Jozwiak. Chester is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann (James) Veclotch of Lakeland, FL, Roberta Alice Krawczyk and Susan Jean (Patrick) Trainor of South Bend; and grandson, Christopher (Stephanie) Vargo of South Bend. Chester honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was employed at Studebaker and the Torrington Company for many years. Chester was also a member of the American Legion Post 357 and Holy Family Catholic Church. He loved woodworking; his daughters thought he could fix anything. Most of all he took great pride in his lawn. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2012 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2012 in Holy Family Catholic Church.
