DOWAGIAC - John T. Przybysz, 83, of Dowagiac, Michigan, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 4:56 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital. John was born on May 24, 1931 in South Bend to Alex and Christine (Odusch) Przybysz. He was a retired salesman, having been employed with US Aviex and Standard Products. On October 13, 1952, in Holy Cross Church, he married Donna M. Ellis, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vicky (Dan) Cunningham and Christi Pettit, both of Dowagiac, Michigan; one son, Tim (Linda) Przybysz of Richmond, Indiana; five grandchildren, Amy (Brandon) Rasler, Jennifer (Nick) Finley, John Przybysz, Tyler Przybysz, and Madeline Pettit; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Audrey, Reese, Sadie, and Annabel; and one brother, William (Sharon) Przybysz of South Bend, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. John was a graduate of South Bend Catholic High School. He attended the University of Notre Dame before entering the United States Navy, where he served during the Korean War. John enjoyed fishing on his beloved Magician Lake.
